Technical workshops for adults in
Coding, Electronics and Robotics

Currently, we offer the following adult workshops...

Designed as an easy and relaxed introduction to the world of digital technologies.

Please submit your expressions of interest by selecting the ‘I’m interested in these workshops’ button below and we’ll keep you informed on dates and locations.

Digi-Bridge across the ages

This workshop focuses on the family connection. It gives adults a greater insight into what their kids are learning in Digital Technologies these days.

Each booking will comprise of a guardian, with a child of primary school age. This could be a parent and their child, grandparent and grandchild, aunty or uncle with niece or nephew, or other arrangement which has the consent of the child’s legal guardian.
Along with your child, you will learn what coding is and how to write simple code and even control a robot with your code!

Intro to Coding

So, what's all this coding stuff anyway? Coding has been the technology buzz word for some time now, but there is often an air of mystery around coding.

If you would like to demystify coding and actually learn how to code yourself, you’ve come to the right place!
Start with a little coding theory (nothing too heavy), then move onto some simple coding. We’ll explain the structure of each piece of code and you’ll start to understand the purpose and benefit of writing and running logically designed and well written code.

Intro to Electronics

Can you imagine today's world without any electronic devices? We rely so heavily on electronics these days, but very few of us really understand it.

In this workshop, you will learn about basic circuits, electronic components and what they are used for, circuit testing and troubleshooting techniques.
After the theory, it’s hands-on! You will construct a range of different circuits and see how proper circuit design can make circuits work more efficiently.
There is also a simple electronic project that you will create and take home!

Intro to Robotics

Once you understand the basis of coding and electronics, this workshop will allow you to put both into practice. Building and coding robots is lots of fun!

A robot is made up of electronics and is controlled through coding, so in this workshop, we’ll investigate this relationship.
You will learn about robotic sensors, control mechanisms that robots rely upon and general robotic theory. We’ll then move on to the practical section, where you’ll construct a vehicular robot and learn how to program it. This robot is included in the cost of the workshop, so it’s yours to keep.
