Testimonials

codingEdge were a delight to work with at our recent South American themed school festival. After an initial discussion they devised an exciting range of coding activities that linked with the issues facing the Amazon rainforest. When students arrived on the day, codingEdge had spectacularly turned the floor of the space into the Amazon river basin. The children had to collaborate and program their robots to explore the space. Students experienced travelling through the magnificent untouched parts of the rainforest as well as the huge number of deforested areas. In addition they discovered how many countries the river travels through.

Older students were then challenged to create the colours of each flag on their Spheros. The room had the ability to be blacked out and at the end of the session it was wonderful to see all the different colours displayed on the giant map. Pete and Glyn had clearly spent considerable time preparing for the session as each activity was differentiated and scaffolded for the wide range of students participating, Prep - Year 6.

They also clearly enjoyed working with the girls and had the ability to empower the students to problem solve for themselves. I would highly recommend using this company and will definitely ask them to work with us again. What sets them apart is that they think beyond the physical act of coding. It is integrated into real life experiences that bring high levels of engagement, challenge and joy to the students involved. In a world where coding is becoming part of daily life, incursions such as this are essential.

For the past two years, our girls have absolutely loved codingEdge visiting us to provide a stimulating, exciting and age appropriate coding experience. The focus on creating a foundation on which the students could build their knowledge and skills has proven to be very successful for subsequent development. Not only have Glyn and Pete worked closely with the teachers to develop an experience which aligned with the students’ capabilities and experiences but they have also ensured each subsequent visit has built upon skills previously gained. I highly recommend codingEdge Technology as they provide a fabulous, enriching and important coding program.

Pete and Glyn from codingEdge are a dream team. Pete’s engineering expertise and Glyn’s wealth of teaching experience combine to create workshops with just the right balance of information and action. Our girls were engaged by their warmth and humour. The high quality programs were thoughtfully designed to suit our curriculum requests, with fantastic attention to detail. The girls were kept active with a combination of unplugged activities and robots, and came away with a deeper understanding of coding skills and attributes, including patience and persistence, and a great sense of achievement. And they all had loads of fun! I would recommend codingEdge without hesitation; we will definitely have them back to Shelford!
